Powered Assisted Handcycles - Cougar

The Cougar has a 7 speed Freewheel mounted on to the side of the motor.

It can be operated with or without power assistance. It is possible to instantly switch from manual to power assist without interruption of peddle rotation. Power assistance can be used continuously although in order to conserve battery power it is good practice to anticipate gear changes when approaching an incline and to use assistance when extra power is needed.

The Cougar allows a range of action approx 12 miles on power alone. This means increased mobility with little effort. The range achieved by a single battery charge depends on various factors. These are the condition of the battery, the road conditions and particularly the cyclist's own effort.
