Powered Handcycles - Viper Kits

You can now purchase a complete kit and build your own Viper. The Viper kit is aimed at the backyard engineer, assembly is pretty much straight forward but you will need a certain amount of mechanical knowledge or know someone who has.

Team Hybrid have been working closely with a reputable Chinese manufacturer and we now have our own motor, the PUMA. We have been selling the PUMA motor in kit form to bike owners for the last couple of years and it has proved to be a solid reliable motor.

The PUMA is a brushless motor with internal planetary gears, this allows for a fast efficient motor that also has plenty of torque. We have also developed our own electronic controller, this is a perfect match with the PUMA and both are very reliable. For more information on the PUMA motor - Click Here >>>

The Viper kit will contain everything you need to get you on the road except for the battery, you may wish to source this yourselves. SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries are the cheapest way to get started and can be purchased from many sources one of which is Maplins. SLA batteries come as 12v so you will have to wire them in series to get 36v you will also need to fit a fuse and connectors.

Alternatively you can purchase the Saft 36v Ni-MH Mobility Module from us. This is not the cheapest option but it is a very reliable battery pack with a very good BMS (battery management system) a fuel gauge and a proven track record. This is the only battery pack we sell with the Viper and Cougar.
