MAD MISSION - LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS June 2011
For a man who broke his back paragliding from the back of a jeep anyone would have thought Terry Chard's days of embarking on "mad missions" would be far behind him.
Not a bit of it.
The Towyn man, a paraplegic with no feeling in his body from the chest down, has spent the last 10 years since his accident indulging a passion for pushing things to the limit.
In June he will set off on the latest chapter of his high octane existence – a 900-mile trip from Lands End to John O'Groats by hand cycle to raise money for Oswestry's Gobowen Spinal Unit and Help the Heroes. He will be joined on the Mad Mission, as the trip is being called, by friend, Prestatyn man Mike Lewis, a DJ with cult 90s dance band N-Trance.
Team Hybrid are proud to be part of Terry's challenge.

FORCES MARCH 25-29 May 2011
In 2005, Army Combat Medic, Chris Flanigan was on yet another training exercise in the UK During the exercise, Chris was severely wounded and received life-changing injuries to his spine. Chris woke up in hospital to his worst nightmare; he was quadriplegic. However, with typical military grit and determination and a refusal to be beaten, Chris pushed on with the endless hours of painful physiotherapy and very slowly, he began to regain more feeling in his hands and arms.
In 2010, Chris achieved something that most of his care staff never thought possible – he became a full- time volunteer for PROJECT 65 – The Veterans Charity. http://www.project65.net
Chris's goal now is to be the first disabled participant of THE FORCES MARCH one of the UK's top challenge events. Participants attempt to complete five stages in five days. Each stage is at least 26.2 miles in length – 5 marathons in 5 days! The route begins in Ilfracombe, North Devon and passes through Exmoor, the Quantocks, Somerset and much of Salisbury Plain before finishing at The Forces Festival just outside of Bulford Camp, the UK's biggest Army Garrison. http://www.forcesmarch.org.uk
Team Hybrid are proud to be part of Chris's challenge

BERTIE BEARS LONG WAY DOWN CHALLENGE
In 2003 Darren Heaton had a fall and broke his spine in 4 places meaning a wheelchair would be his means of getting around from then on.
After the initial shock and trauma that we all go through with a spinal injury Darren soon started to get his life back on track and last year one of his challenges saw him raise thousands of pounds for the Grenadier guards.
Darren contacted Team Hybrid and explained that he wanted to raise more money for the Grenadier/Scots Guards Colonels Fund http://grengds.com
and also the Backup-Trust Spinal Injury Charity. http://www.backuptrust.org.uk
Darren's initial enquiry was to ask us if we could lend him some form of power wheelchair as his challenge involved travelling the whole the length of the country. We then suggested the idea of using the Cougar power assisted hand cycle.
Team Hybrid are proud to be part of Darren's challenge.

Testimonial: Some things in Life I thought were lost forever
I am not a pessimist at all but following my pleading son and wife on a bike ride around the park and down to the beach were little pleasures I thought I would have to live without.
Thanks to Team Hybrid and their fantastic viper, bike riding everywhere is now possible and with great results. The past 2 weeks that I have had my viper have been incredible. I feel as if I am 12 years old and just gotten my 1 st bike… I want to ride it all the time everywhere even in the house! Riding after 18 years with my family is … P R I C E L E S S !
All my friends have noticed that my spirits have gone through the roof and I constantly have a happy grin on my face. These are the things that give our life salt and pepper and I have Team Hybrid and Mark to thank for that. Thank you very much for introducing me to my new best friend… the VIPER!
